Working the Looks of Resort 2012

Doo Ri showcased a spot on look with a simply stunning, elegant, classic and yes ... fashion forward skirt with belt and lovely spin of the classic white blouse.
Doo.Ri Resort 2012
I absolutely adore a low back, but that's a glaring office DON'T, however this boatneck dip back dress by Antonio Berardi might just make the cut; the silhouette and the fit are so sophisticated; impeccable.
For a more conservative workplace leave the blazer on, but show this back off as you head to the door.

Both Berardi Resort 2012
For a brighter look try a patterned blouse with sleek silk ankle pants or a high neck fitted dress in a dim color that won't stand out.   Steer clear of loud fitted dresses and if it's body hugging stick to that blacks, grays, blues and subtle hues.... figure flattering first of couse.

Both Berardi Resort 2012

A bold color is always a fantastic accent to the office, whether it's via a top, bag , shoe, or belt (or all) or a slim and proper (hits the knee and cover the chest) dress, or something midway .... know your position and environment and work with that and use the safety scale noted below :).
For that check out Elie Saab
For the record I'd err on the side of the left (below) and save the right for a hot after work date ... keep the blazer on at work and you're stylish and set!

Peplum top is so in and this color is so office appropriate!  A camisole is a must under this plunging neckline or take it to your tailor for a nip up, however the second look is perfect!
Stunning color, sophisticated yet sexy top and unbelievable fit.
For one of my fav color combos see below, bright and black!
Elie Saab Resort 2012
or bright and white
Emilio Pucci Resort 2012

for a similar bright bag check out the THE FLUORO from Cambridge Satchel that's been everywhere this resort season!

Finally, for two fashion forward staples that will keep you at the hight of style this Spring and Fall;
try this beautiful combo from Carven both top and skirt are so versatile from resort to fall and

this gold pleated skirt from Gucci you can wear with a light top spring and summer and with a wool and leather blazer this fall and winter (trend report to come).   The bow neck is getting played out so lets retire that one, but structured and sophisticated pleats will for sure be a trend to watch ... look for leather, bolds and stiff structure, also be sure the length is figure flattering.
I can't say it enough, the $10 to $15 to properly tailor skirt, is worth it's weight is gucci gold.

Pastel Pretty and Neon Brights

Maybe it's the long dark days of winter, or the fact that I was still dreaming about the stunning pumps in my post Silver Tipped Style, or call it a case of the mondays.  Whatever it is I couldn't get color color color out of my mind today!

Like this look by Tara Jarmon whose Champs Elysees boutique is one of my first stops when I'm back in Paris.  You can also get pieces online at one of my new favorite sites Stylebop
This spring it's COLOR!  Tara's look is so spot on to brighten up any work day Friday!
Simple, elegant, and sophisticated, with a splash a girlish charm; oooh that's Tara Jarmon! So fight off those mondays with daydreaming about your Splash of Color Friday!

For Splash of Color Friday J.Crew is your go-to.
Depending on where you work I'd save the color saturation for a more casual Friday, or for a day you are out for the Courtroom, but take a piece of these looks and you can incorporate that into everyday.

The most important thing about color is to make sure it complements you! Sure gray and yellow green or orange look amazing together but if it's next to your face it must compliment it.  Same if it's on your legs, you want that color to make them look amazing.

Work to compliment your complexion first and your eyes second.  When all else fails, you're safe with colorful jewelry, such as a bold necklace and bracelet or a Shout Out Handbag, both exemplified by J.Crew above, also it's a look that I love.

For that perfect "causal Friday" look for those fashionista like me who tend to steer away from jeans the J.Crew looks above are simply perfection!

A sequin or fun skirt with a classic 'work' top or a
bold monocolor look are wonderful. Note the colorful bracelets on the all yellow look; mix up a monocolor  base with contrasting shoes, bag, jewelry, belt etc...

We all have a staple or two to make the look above work; and if not ... time to go shopping!

Another J.Crew look I love (but don't tie that top at work) is the classic striped button down with a bold skirt.  I replicated this look with one of my favorite  Brooks Brothers non-irons shirts and a Theory  red velvet skirt; my point, work with your taste for a great colorful look!

J.Crew has your monocolor look with sophisticated sequins and a bold yellow skirt.

Tara Jarmon rocks the sequin skirt and bold blazer.

Is it the weekend yet?

J.Crew is ready for that too with bold casual or a sexy monocolor short suit.  Let that blazer come out on the weekends too.
The best wardrobe is one that can work any day of the week.

Stay tuned for more color incorporation into your very own Corporate Runway

Silver Tipped Style

If you were to only buy one pair of shoes this season please let that pair be the Capsize pump by Stuart Weitzman!

This sexy twist on the classic Mary Jane is a must have for every working woman's wardrobe.  The 50's style is everywhere on the runway and nothing compliments updated 50's than the updated Mary Jane.  Also at $365 this pair of pumps by renowned shoe and handbag designer Stuart Weitzman is a steal; in fact Vogue featured these gorgeous heels is their March 2012 edition of "Steal of The Month"

The silver tipped toe is all over the Spring 2012 Louis Vuitton Collection, so for those willing to shell out a little more dough (large tax return perhaps?) these will have your mouth watering!
(my favorite)

Gorgeous!

sooo chic with a crisp white suit

And ... for those who want a bit more silver Marc Jacobs has you covered with this fantastic modernized Mary Jane that will add that perfect yet professional wow factor to that black or navy pantsuit.

As seen on Alexa Chung when she was on Jimmy Fallon
For a fun weekend look try a shorter skirt and these silver bullets with navy blue ankle socks (love that look for weekend btw! and Chanel seems to be loving it too)

Finally, for a reverse silver look, try these Marc Jacobs MUST HAVES
with the silver heel and strap.

Looks like we've found the silver lining to kicking off the work week ;)

Paule Ka ~ The Perfect Spring Collection 2012

Wow! Is there a collection that has EVERY perfect trend for Spring 2012 ... other than Paule Ka! Some may have a trend here and there, but Paule Ka has it all ... above and beyond and leading the march!

First of all, this is one of my top 10 designers.  I fell in love with the Paule Ka perfection (tailoring, style, fit, elegance, colors ... ok you name it, Paule Ka does it right) when I was living in Paris.   Not subjecting my self to humble brag however, when I was living in Paris I was lucky enough to live in le triangle d'or, or in english, the golden tringle.   The area in the 8th arrondisement of Paris that is the triangle of some of the top fashion houses, stores.  My walk to the metro every day might have included a walk down the red carpet Avenue Montaigne or up toward Metro Franklin DRoosevelt with one on my favorite side street cut throughs past 45 Rue Francois 1er.  This cut though was one of my favorites, because even thought I was giving up my window shopping at Valentino Chanel, Christian Dior, Gucci, Celine, Harry Winston ...   I would walk right past Paule Ka.

I could not be happier to share on my blog Paule Ka this spring

Modernized 50s has been covering the runway (which I love) but Paule Ka seems to have mastered the updated look with classic tailoring.  Lets start with the peplum top that we've seen everywhere from Armani to H&M

Perfect belted peplum top with office appropriate shorts and heels.  I can't wait for you to see what's next because each piece of a Paule Ka collection in an enhancement to any look and can be mixed and matched.
Like cropped pants and this beautiful top!
Or another cropped pants look and a slimming peplum bow enhanced top.  One of my favorite parts and why this collection is so perfect for this blog ... take these crop pants and pair them with a sleek taupe jacket,
or
a stylish black top (all Paule Ka btw)
and ...
and this sleek white jacket to boost the look.

How about the peplum top
stunning mixing with either of the jackets or the pants above.

Moving on to the next look:
Keep the blazer on or pull those shoulder up at work ladies, but when that scotch hits your lips after a long day, this is the top you want to have on!

Also, don't be afraid to mix color.
Blocking white or adding a burst of color is an absolute must!

For a dress
subtly sexy

drop waist

PoC; Pop of Color

and... the perrrfect ...
tailored, slimming dress.

Ok ok ...  so you're already on board that this is about the most perfect wearable and versatile collection this spring ... but when you're jetting off on your weekend getaways, via private jet or doorless jeep, keep looking chic
with classic white shorts

or a chic belted cardigan.

Are you are Paule Ka devotee or what!
