The Akris Ai Tote

The Akris Ai Tote is currently my favorite bag on the market!

The family-owned Swiss house Akris is guided by Creative Director Albert Kriemler. His grandmother launched the line in 1922 and drew the name from her own initials (Alice Kriemler Schoch). Today the company has earned a reputation for exceptionally well-tailored dresses, suits and separates. Each piece is still designed and produced in Switzerland.

With the Akris Ai bag Albert Kriemler lends his architectural eye to this unusually shaped, precision-tailored tote.

This fabulous bag comes in many different sizes as seen above, and in textures that include plain wool, printed wool, horsehair, deerskin, and even ostrich.

My favorite of the line is the Akris Ai Horsehair Tote where the clean lines showcase the splendid texture of horsehair, hand woven on antique looms.

These bags are a real investment with a price tag from around $1,000 to around $5,000.  However, I am a firm believer in investing in that perfect handbag!  I still have my 1st Louis Vuitton that's 10 years old, in pristine condition and still huge in the Louis Vuitton product line.

The right bag is lasting and the style can be timeless; just look at the Hermes Kelly and Birkin, or the Louis Vuitton Speedy.  In my opinion, the Akris Ai bag which is a couple years old, is a lasting style that is going to be on the market for sometime now.

Some other styles are:

If you love the folded over look like I do, some of my favorite weekend clutches are the De Manta leather clutch by Alexander Mcqueen for $695

and the
OVERSIZED FOLDED CLUTCH IN YELLOW $605 or MEDIUM FOLDED CLUTCH IN YELLOW  $485 by one of my favorite new handbag designers Emily Cho!

Time to put your money into the right bag....
